Waste Management
Policy and Commitment
Csun follows the ISO14001 environmental management system and has established a waste management system based on the three principles of “source reduction,” “resource recycling,” and “landfill reduction.” The company submits regular annual waste reports and has implemented a record-keeping mechanism, aiming for an annual waste recycling rate of 20%. Additionally, the company emphasizes resource recycling, implementing waste reduction and recycling measures at all operational sites and using environmentally friendly materials to reduce resource consumption.
Waste Value Chain Management
Csun implements waste management measures across the upstream, midstream, and downstream stages of the value chain, with a complete management mechanism from material intake to waste disposal. In 2023, on-site audits of waste disposal contractors were completed with no violations found, ensuring proper waste disposal.
Waste Generation and Disposal
In 2023, Csun’s total waste amounted to 142.55 metric tons, a reduction of 18.81% compared to 2022. Of this, the recycling rate was 28.53%, exceeding the annual recycling target. The waste included non-hazardous waste such as metal/plastic, waste wooden pallets, and general industrial waste. The company actively reduces waste and adopts methods such as incineration and recycling for waste disposal.
Waste Reduction Actions
Csun collaborates with suppliers on waste reduction projects, using plastic pallets instead of wooden pallets, extending pallet lifespans. In 2023, the company reduced the amount of discarded wooden pallets by 29.91 metric tons, a reduction of 36.57%, effectively decreasing waste generation and reducing the number of wooden pallets suppliers need to purchase.
